BLACK CARE

Black Care is a key part of our mission to use poetry and storytelling as a way to invoke social change and support our communities by shedding light on history to improve the future lives of Black children in the care system.

The work we do around being Black and having experience of the care system was inspired by our Artistic Director's lived and professional experience.

Our oral history project and the live events we run are our response to Barnados 'Double Discrimination' report, '.

The report highlighted the discrimination faced by many young Black people who have been in the care system, the negative impact this has on their lives and is calling for urgent change.
